Recommended Fabrics:
- Shirt or Blouse: Lightweight, drapey fabrics like viscose, satin, silk.
- Dress: Medium-weight drapey fabrics or pre-smocked fabric. Avoid stretch fabrics for DIY smocking.
- Not Recommended: Stiffer fabrics like cotton or linen for the dropped shoulder version.

Materials Needed:

- Blouse Version: 4 buttons (10 mm) for cuffs.
- Thread: High-quality matching sewing thread (strong for gathering).
- Fabric Markers: Essential for the smocked skirt.
- Elastic Thread: 80 meters of 1 mm elastic thread for the smocked dress option.
- Additional Thread: 2 spools of high-quality matching sewing thread for the smocked dress.
