Recommended fabric

Sweat Jersey (250 to 300g/m2) or thick wool blend with stretch. No more than 35% elasticity, or the sweatshirt may not hold up well in the sleeves.
In this version, I sewed the sweatshirt with Mind The Maker sweat jersey and matching rib knit.

Materials List:

  • 140 x 40 cm of rib knit (the pattern also allows you to cut your pieces from fabric for cuff/neck finishes)
  • 65 cm of 8 mm clear flat elastic to reinforce shoulder seams or 65 cm x 1 cm fusible interfacing.
  • 4 strips of 8 x 1 cm fusible interfacing
  • Option with zippers: 2 metal-toothed zippers 12 cm each
  • 35 cm x 3 cm jersey bias tape for the clean finish strip
  • One special jersey needle size 90
  • Matching high-quality polyester thread (more durable than cotton for stretch fabrics)

Reviews

“ This is the sweater you want to live in. Super comfy, easy to make with a special twist. ” – Marie

“ It’s a really fun pattern that will keep adventurous beginners engaged with things like sewing knits, working with and encasing ribbing for a clean finish, adding exposed zippers. This pattern lends itself to so many fun variations of color and fabric within its components. And, it has the added bonus of being a quick sew so you can enjoy your garment right away. I love that it’s a cozy oversized sweat that can be worn as is or layered over a woven top for a more styled look.  ” – Jeannette
